Backpacking Vlog #16 - Lake Tekapo

Hello all! Just a short travel vlog today featuring our time in Lake Tekapo. Lake Tekapo is home to the famous Church of The Good Shephard, and known for the hundreds of colourful lupins which bloom all around the lake each year! The small town also offers star-gazing tours (the clearest views in the world) as well as tours to Mount Cook.

This was our before-last stop in New Zealand, and so our budgets were extremely strict at this point simply due to the fact we had already pre-booked a major Lord Of The Rings location tour in Christchurch. Because of this we were unfortunately unable to visit Mount Cook which was a huge shame, but as you'll see in the next vlog, the location tour was the highlight of our entire trip so no regrets there!

We spent 3 nights in Lake Tekapo but one full day is enough, unless you plan on doing one of the activities. We didn't have the best weather during our stay but were still able to go on a few walks around the lake!
