The vintage blouse

Hello yellow!

During our yearly clear-out I rediscovered this mustard yellow blouse in a large box, the type of box which bounces around the house for years and years, full of stuff you keep meaning to sell but never get around to sorting through. It's way too big and terribly unpractical for someone who suffers from severe anxious sweat (yep, unfortunately that's a thing), but there is something about it which sparked my interest. Where did it come from? My mum said that it never belonged to her, so odds are it was passed to us by a family friend or a grand-parent years and years ago. I've always loved the idea of wearing old disregarded clothes, they have been to places I've never visited. Someone loved and cared for this blouse, it feels brand new and it would be a shame to waste it. It feels good to give it a new lease of life.

Unfortunately the trousers are also a bit big, all that extra fabric is a little unflattering and as a result the outfit didn't give the effect I was aiming for. I assumed the two pieces would work well together because of the gold thread detail on the trousers, it's just a shame the trousers aren't more fitted!

I was hoping to shoot more ~artistic~ content here in London but I haven't even used my camera since I arrived. I convinced myself I'd be able to fit in some shoots after work but it took me longer than I want to admit to get used to the long work day again. However, I'm now one week in and I actually don't feel too awful at 5.45am anymore!

Hope you're all having a lovely week,
Holly x
