Postcards from Wanaka

The resort town which serves as the gateway to the Southern Alp's Mount Aspiring National Park is easily one of my favourite places in New Zealand. Surrounded by snowcapped mountains, a beautiful lake, and stunning flowers if it's the right time of the year - Wanaka feels like a magical land such as Narnia or Middle-Earth. This is the second post about Wanaka, so I thought I'd keep it short and sweet and let you find the words for this place yourself.

We decided to walk around the other side of the lake, which took us a couple of hours but was well worth the view. It's possible to rent a kayak for a few hours (at a very decent backpacker-friendly price too) or even go jet-skiing. This tranquil little corner of the world will hold a special place in my heart forever.
