A bit of burgundy

I wore this top & pleated midi skirt to the Fashioning A Reign exhibition and State Room Tour at Buckingham Palace a few weeks ago. It was my first time there and I was determined to wear something smart for the occasion! The exhibition and State Room Tour was amazing. It was lovely to actually walk the halls of such a culturally significant place, to see the beautiful, iconic dresses with my own eyes. I've always been interested in our Queen and her work, so I genuinely enjoyed the whole experience! (Thankyou Grandma!)

I wore this burgundy jacket from Zara on the day we shot these pictures as I wanted to add a pop of colour to the outfit. The contrast between the jacket and the top makes the outfit quite interesting and eye-catching in my opinion; the top can be dressed up or down, and it adds dimension to any outfit. A short skirt and a belt would make a more casual, fun look, whilst the pleated skirt I chose here smartens the outfit up a bit without making it too over-the-top!

This pleated midi skirt from Zara is one of Summer & I's favourite pieces: not only is it appropriate for work, it's also a staple piece which can be worn as everyday wear during the autumn/winter seasons. I usually wear midi skirts with heels as I find it really elongates the legs and makes you look smarter (and more badass).
What are your favorite autumn/winter pieces?

Hope you're all having a lovely week!
