OOTD + the power of fictional characters

I am absolutely certain that at some point in life, everyone has wished that they were an epic character on a wild adventure in a fantasy land. It's not something I'm ashamed to admit, life can really suck sometimes, and there's peace and comfort to be found in the idea that we can always rely on stories and characters to cheer us up, inspire us and motivate us. You can be empowered by fictional characters. One way to feel connected to these much-needed inspirational characters is through fashion. I do believe that you can channel that energy you find through characters and stories through your outfits/look. I wore our Irresistible Me hair extensions (review here) for this look, and I was definitely feeling like bad-ass favorite-heroin-of-all-time Eowyn of Rohan, ready to conquer the battle field and get through some tough changes. I don't care if it sounds silly- little characteristics that you've acquired from your fave characters can give you a huge confidence boost, and consequently help you get though the day.

I wore this beautiful Mango dress as I thought it was a good match for the long curly hair look. The simple flower print of the dress, and the bell-sleeves detail, were perfect with the long curly locks. There was a lot of hair-swishing going on! The dress fits perfectly around the waist, and it's the perfect summer dress as the material is so light. It's also a good choice for a day out as your shoulders and arms are shielded from the sun. The only downside is the length: Mango have yet to introduce a tall section, so in the mean time I've just got to avoid running, bending down, sitting down.... ugh.
I paired the dress with Summer's cute khaki green box bag from Zara that we have been sharing in all our recent posts, the color contrasts well with the outfit without standing out too much, which I love.
