Cropped Trousers

All of my recent outfits have been pretty "dressed up" and smart, I'm actually really looking forward to wearing something a little more casual soon. Although I love dressing up, I can't deny that some skinnies and a slightly oversize jumper with ankle boots is my go-to outfit! Coming back to this look,  I find that culottes have the ability of making you feel like a grown-up. Anything slightly fitted or clean cut instantly gives you that feeling, especially if the fabric is soft and silky. I'm so happy I discovered these cropped flowing trousers in Zara last week, not only is the cut flattering (high elasticated waist and POCKETS) but it is in one of my favorite colors, a rich bottle green. I wore it with a casual black top with side-slit details and my new Topshop boots I scored in the sale! The only problem with them is that when I got home I found that the cashier forgot to take off the electronic tag. Not fun!

In other news, I'm pretty much set for Canada. My fall wardrobe is ready to go, complete with thick tights from Primark, some Zara jeans and a snuggly jumper, and a ridiculous amount of socks. Seriously, whenever Holly & I go back to London for a bit, we return with about 15 pairs of socks. French socks are so plain, why not buy some with cats and foxes on them?! The only thing I'm missing is a fall coat, I always struggle to find transitional outerwear!

Holly & I have been trying to follow more people on twitter, so if you're interested our handles are @ summerrread & @ hollyxread ! Have a lovely day! x
