God's Own Junkyard

On Friday the 18th we met up with the lovely Andini at God's Own Junkyard, a small warehouse filled with hundreds of vintage neon lights located in Walthamstow. Hanging on the walls, from the ceiling or even piled up in a corner, every inch of the quirky place is covered in lights. As you can imagine, it is a very aesthetically pleasing place to be! Each neon sign differs in shape, size and color, together creating a mesmerizing atmosphere which is both enticing & dreamlike, as if you were in a film. There are also numerous film props throughout, including a tea pot from Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland!

Half of the space is dedicated to the various signs and objects, the other is a retro seating area filled with comfy leather sofas, tables and chairs. After wandering around you can sit for a while, enjoy some tea and scones, or even a hot meal! We spent a few hours here, admiring the hundreds of signs and taking pictures. Even as I look through the pictures now, there is a sign I missed at first glance! As if the lights weren't enough, awesome music played throughout, adding to the incredible atmosphere. It was so lovely catching up with Andini, and we even went to see Fantastic Beasts afterwards which I loved to bits! All in all, a perfect day!
