Boadicea

The only things missing from this outfit were a sword and shield. No seriously, this dress has a very gladiator-esque feel to it, especially when paired with my sandals. (The title of this post is actually referring to the famous British Queen Boadicea, who led an uprising against the occupying Romans) When Holly and I were shooting this look in the pebbled streets, I felt pretty mighty. It's amazing how an outfit can make you feel so empowered, whether it's power dressing in a fitted suit or striding in the streets in a new pair of shoes, the result can be remarkable.

I first tried this dress on in the shop but eventually bought it online during the sale, and I'm so happy I managed to get my hands on it! I love the grey-blue color, the little beaded detailing on the seams, and the elasticated waist line. The chiffon material is so gorgeous, and I love the neckline. I've always struggled with Mango sizes, I find them so different compared to Zara or HM. I had to buy this in XS because there was so much material that in S it hung over the waistline and was really unappealing, but that meant that the XS dress was really short on me, like, really short. (Thankfully no gusts of wind left me flushed with embarrassment!)

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! I can't believe how fast it's going, I feel like July went past in a flash, how is it August already?? Summer x
