We spent three days at Universal, and it was just enough time to see everything. To be honest, I enjoyed Universal a lot more than Disney, I wish I could have spent another 2 days there at least. There's no way to accurately describe the feeling of walking around the park, all I can say is that the days I spent at Universal were probably some of the best, happiest days of my life. I can't imagine anyone going there and not enjoying themselves. Even if you're not a huge fan of the characters, fictional worlds, it's impossible to not feel a little overwhelmed and amazed at your surroundings. Being a pop-culture fan just made the holiday even more special! What we need to understand is that everyone is passionate about something, whether it be Pop Culture, Music, Sport, whatever it is, I've always believed that it's important to support each others passions, encourage each others dreams and most of all, never make someone feel ashamed for being passionate about something. That was the beauty of this trip, seeing people of all ages embrace who they are and what they love. You could feel the positive energy in the air, every single person smiling, brought together by a common interest. Because if we're not passionate about something, then what's the point? I couldn't stop smiling whenever someone walked past wearing the full Hogwarts uniform, or a whole family wearing Avengers t-shirts. And seven hells, everyone loves an awesome roller-coaster ride.
Today's post will be focused mainly on Universal's Islands Of Adventure, which consists of Marvel Superhero Island, Jurassic Park, The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter, Toon Lagoon, The Lost Continent & Seuss Landing. (Marvel and Harry Potter were my favorites!)
As Captain America, Storm, Spiderman, Wolverine & Cyclops came around the corner riding motorcycles in full costume, a huge smile appeared on my face. I'm a big Marvel fan, I have always loved superhero movies. I love the characters, I love their stories. As soon as Captain America appeared, we both jumped in the queue to get our picture taken. The Marvel Superhero Island in Universal's Islands of Adventure is amazing, especially the Hulk ride, and the Spiderman was probably my favorite ride of all. It was amazing be among so many people who love and appreciate something as much as you do.
Needless to say The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter (Hogwarts, Hogsmeade & Diagon Alley) was overwhelming. Magical. Beautiful. The attention to detail was incredible. As a die-hard Harry Potter geek, I had tears in my eyes the whole time I was there. I was desperately trying not to cry during the rides, especially during our last evening in Diagon Alley. I will be doing a separate post for Diagon Alley as I have hundreds of pictures, and because Diagon Alley is located in the other park!
