Sneak Peek: Florida lookbook 2015

Hello everyone!

It's been too long. We haven't been active on the blog for a month now, and I hate it. The little nagging voice in my head saying I should be spending every free moment of my time studying, preparing for exams and blah blah blah. Thankfully, we only have two more exams left next week! It's such a relief, I can't wait to get my hands on my cameras again and start blogging again, I miss it so much! I haven't used my film camera since our trip to Chicago in October, and my Canon is sitting on a shelf gathering dust. It's a sad sight.

So, these past few weeks have been pretty busy, if you guys read our blog regularly you will remember that we signed up for the Erasmus program hoping we could spend our next semester studying abroad, in Canada. We did get some great news that unfortunately was very short lived, as we were told we were going to the university that we had put down as our 1st choice only to discover 2 weeks later that there had been a problem concerning the inscription process. And so now we are trying to figure out if any other places are available elsewhere that are still accepting exchange students. It's such a shame as we were both really looking forward to it, it was the perfect place and all I can say is that we were pretty upset when we discovered the news. Oh well.

On the bright side though, Holly & I are going on holiday to Florida in two weeks time! It's the only thing that's been keeping me sane for the past few weeks ! I've actually been trying not to think about it too much, because otherwise I just freak out with excitement! We used to go there every summer when we were kids, and this is probably going to be our last "family" holiday as it were, and so we decided to go to Orlando. My spring /summer wardrobe is pretty much ready, although I still need to find a pair of trainers for walking around Disney & Universal Studios, and a bikini. I dread this every year, trying to find a structured bikini top that doesn't blow the budget and that delivers to France. It's surprisingly difficult. I decided to put together some pictures of the clothes I'm taking with me, a little "sneak peek" at my spring/summer wardrobe.

I do not own any of these pictures, all can be found on Pinterest.

  • Smock Dress
Zara

I have always loved smock dresses, even though I never had the courage to wear them. For some reason I assumed they wouldn't suit me. Now, I own 3 of them! Still not quite sure how that happened ahah. I wasn't too sure about the Zara one at first because of the color, I was worried it would clash with my hair. My Mum & Holly convinced me to buy it in the end, and I'm so happy I did. I can't wait to wear this, it looks great with a fedora hat and some cute loafers.
  • Stripes

Zara

Holly actually picked this dress out for me the other day. It's one of those items that makes you feel light and fresh: the length is great, although the dress comes down quite low at the bust so I'm going to shorten the straps a little bit. It's such an simple, easy look to put together for a casual summer day! I tried this dress on with my Doc Martens and fell in love, it's gives a little bit more edge to the look, and it looks great with some flats too!

Zara

This shirt. I haven't worn it out yet, but I keep trying it on. It's perfect. It looks great buttoned up with skinnies for a more "smart" look, yet button it down a little and it gives a whole new feel to the outfit. I wanted something that would cover up my shoulders as I sunburn really easily, but I also wanted something light. I love the 3/4 sleeves and the back detail, I find it really flattering. I will probably wear this in Disney (depending on the weather), we recently bought some great high waist-ed mom shorts from Asos that look great paired with it!

Zara

I saw this top a few weeks back, it was on sale and had been reduced by sooo much. I was intrigued by it not only because of the stripe pattern but because of it's interesting neck and strap detail, it was something different I have never thought of trying on before, so I went for it! It looks great with shorts but also midi skirts, the only trouble with it is finding a bra to wear with it!

  • The Lace Top

Zara
Ahhh, lace. So beautiful and delicate.  Holly & I both bought a lace top each, the one above and another with a different neckline and sleeves. I don't own many white pieces, living in the county side I'm always worried about staining my clothes. But my s/s15 wardrobe has several white pieces that I can't wait to style!  This top looks amazing with jeans: skinny, mom, you name it. It's a lovely casual day look, and the detailing is just beautiful.

  • Shoes

Zara

Every year, I try to find the perfect pair of loathers. Something pretty but not too "office-like", that I can just pair with some jeans or a dress. I was so happy when I discovered these beauties in Zara: Navy blue, one of my favorites colors, a good sole that will last and that will able me to walk on the gravel without looking intoxicated. I can wear these with pretty much all my ss looks, especially the culottes I also got from Zara!

Mango
Oh my. These boots. I always remember seeing Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wearing a pair similar to these for a festival, and I've been obsessed with them ever since. My Mum and us all tried them on and decided to get them. You can wear them with ANYTHING. They are also available in black, and I would definitely buy them if I could. I have nothing bad to say about them.

And voila, once again as you can see most of our wardrobe is from Zara... They never disappoint. I always got some lovely pieces from H&M and ASOS that I can't wait to share too. I'm so excited for this holiday, and I plan on documenting every single moment of it. I'm bring my Canon A1 film camera along with me too! Hope everyone is enjoying their week-end, if you are currently passing all your exams, take a deep breath, we can do it!
Summer x
